Excessive force complaints ignored

Last month I sent a letter to the Maine Commission for Public Defense Services; it was a request for a new attorney. It was received on March 5, 2026...picked up at 8:40 a.m. 9589071052702739723660; and a copy sent to the Attorney General of Maine was picked up at the same time: 9589071052702739723677.

A lawyer was appointed to me; however, I recently spoke with him, and he says he's only representing me regarding the sentencing...which should not even happen! There needs to be a new trial scheduled, but I don't trust any State of Maine judge to preside over it.

Prior to the trial by jury I told my lawyer that the state's witness had not only misused the protection order against me, but another individual who I intended to have testify...but it didn't happen.

My abuser/accuser only claims to have suffered distress...while I actually did suffer distress and damages for simply making social media posts to defend myself against the false claims of harassment.

I was arrested on March 24 by two Lewiston officers, and released during a major snowstorm, two miles from my home.

On March 30 five Lewiston officers began knocking on my door around 10 pm. I told one over the phone that the warrant was based on a lie. Despite that there was no public safety concern, they breeched my door, and arrested me.

I was releaseed after midnight onto the streets of Auburn, two miles from my home. Officers took my Iphone during the arrest, and they claim they don't have it. They did not have a warrant to take it.

Another warrant issued in mid June for my failing to appear, despite that I had still not been appointed an attorney, and despite that I had a valid reason and notified the court.

During city council meeting on July 15, 2025 I handed a complaint to the now former chief of police, David St. Pierre; in it I mentioned the excessive force used on March 30, and that the allegations of harassment were false. I provided a copy of the complaint to the city council, and emailed it to them.

The next morning, July 16, there were officers at my door to arrest me for the June 12 failure to appear. I wasn't home, and turned myself in the following day and paid $500 or they would have held me overnight.

Chief St. Pierre soon announced his retirement. Lt. Derrick St. Laurent says there's no record of my complaint. I submitted another complaint on October 8 regarding yet another arrest that happened on the evening of September 2, right outside city hall.

The arrest involved the use of excessive force again: one of the officers cut my purse strap and the other bruised my arm. I lost income and customers due to being unable to be reached on the morning of September 3 after being held overnight, and only released in the late afternoon.

I've suffered much distress and damages due to the actions of the state and it's witness, the prosecutor, law enforcement officers, and the judge who wrongly granted the protection order, and had me arrested for making harmless social media posts.

Soon after I arrived home from the police station after dropping off my complaint on the afternoon of October 8, officers came with another warrant; and this one was sealed. They enlisted the help of my landlord to gain access to me when I would not open the door.

I was appointed an attorney after the September 2 arrest...because the district attorney was asking for jail time. I was told I could appear for my arraignment by zoom. I waited almost one hour before seeing a message on my phone from my attorney, who had met with the judge without conferencing me in; they also failed to conference me into one of the docket calls...another violation of due process.
