Last year I created a campaign at GoFundMe; and it was suspended, but put back up eventually. Then I was arrested for exercising my right to free speech and took it down.
Why aren't candidates for political offices addressing the obvious lack of accountability of law enforcement in Maine? And the violations of 6th Amendment rights which Maine is being sued for, by the ACLU? I am not giving up.
I spoke at the forum to address youth violence last Wednesday. It took place at the Cavalry Christian Church at 777 Maine Street. The exterior is black and doesn't look like a church at all. A few years ago the building was being used by a bitcoin company. I cleaned and painted the interior.
News Center Maine was at the event. I gave Christian Harson my information. Several people spoke; most were critical of parents who they feel should be held responsible when their children commit crime. Those who spoke wanted more support for Lewiston police, such as federal law enforcement.
I got in line; the first thing I mentioned was that adults need to be good examples for children, starting with holding Lewiston police officers accountable when they clearly violate the law. Jon Fetherston was sitting in the front row, and got up and came to the podium and told me this wasn't the place to be discussing that; but I told him I wasn't done, and continued.
The new chief has asked for off-duty cars for officers... claiming that it would help her to recruit. I suggested if officers don't live very far from the station, pay them to walk to work. Foot patrols were promised, but never happened. Have you ever seen any officers walking on the streets of Lewiston without there being a police car nearby? I haven't. If they are doing foot patrols, I'd like to see the documentation.
Though I blog, I could use help with posting stories, and getting more followers. I've had a Youtube account for years, but only posted a few videos. Below is the link. If I get 100 subscribers I'll be able to get a custom URL.
